2016-2017 School Year Re-cap, Student Edition

We finished our school year at the end of May and have been in summer learning mode ever since.  I had this grand idea that I would plan our upcoming school year at the front end summer, while the reality of our days was fresh in my mind, and I could set up realistic plans for the coming year. This sort of worked, in that I got started at the beginning of summer break, but then got side tracked a lot along the way (planning our Schole Group homeschool co-op, doing house projects, etc. etc), and just finished up plans this week.  It kind of feels like I’ve worked on school all summer—I guess that is because I have.  The plans are now laid out, printed out, stuck in binders and we are more or less ready to go.

But, before diving into another year, I wanted to pause and capture the kids’ ideas about this past year.  I used to include these little interviews when I would write their annual birthday blog posts.  But those have not been happening consistently lately.  So, I’ve decided to shore these up into one post and call it our annual school re-cap, student edition.  I personally am constantly chewing on what went well, what we loved, what needs to be tweaked and so on.  The kids, well, they are way more gracious than I am to myself and so their perspectives were refreshing.
